Finally found time to use the mothers three step wax system. First time I had used an orbital buffer so I was a tad nervous. Ended up coming out rather well. It took the better part of the day (7 long hours) but it was well worth it. Unfortunately it got rained on and hour after I pulled it out of the garage.

Had the transmission sent out for rebuild a month ago and got it put back in two weeks ago. Combined with a new clutch, throwout bearing and pilot bearing it's feeling great again.

Nice to see that SVT is in good hands. Do love me some SN-95s.

cool, I like the 01+ improvements.

and you don't have to worry about damaging your paint with a random orbital. It doesn't have the power to damage anything unless you literally threw it at the car.

looks great! How did it do with nicks and scratches. Thinking about doing my car next week.

Is that true? I'm always weary about using any powered buffer on a car because I have zero experience.

Most of the improvements were not a big deal. The 99's had a power issue mine was fixed during the recall and has the same amount of power as the 01's now. I know they also changed the cup holders. It's funny I love my car because of how poorly made it was in a sense. If you sift into second anything in the first cup holder is coming out. The second cup holder is so wide and shallow it doesn't hold anything in a turn over 5mph. It's awful, and I love it because of that.

All minor scratches are gone. There are some nicks that make me seriously consider have the bumpers resprayed. I think I'm going to get an estimate next week. The tires I got for this summer are so sticky they have put a few nicks in the rear quarter panels in no time. Ordered some mud flaps for the time being. There was one larch scratch on the bumper that doesn't go through to the paint but it's clearly there. Even that one is mostly gone now.

The biggest improvement was the color. You know how you wash your car and when it's wet it looks great and then when it dries off it looks a bit more dull. It doesn't anymore. It looks just like it's wet (in a way) all the time. There is a lot more depth to the color as well. Even my dad kept looking at it and saying, wow that's just amazing.

good to hear. What kind of orbital did you use?

I took my 03 Evo in for an estimate Saturday to get the front bumper cover and hood done and it was $1100. I did leave the wing to get new clear applied as the original had pealed. Know problem on the 03s. $225 or that.

waxmaster 9000

Yea if I got it resprayed I would get a clear bra on it right away.

Nice Cobra! Looks like it came out great. I've been thinking about doing this with my Mach soon, run in to any issues I should be aware about?

Not really just be prepared to spend a lot of time. Don't rush. The polish and micro polish is well....polishing so I took a great deal of time (first two hours) washing the car, and then going back over any spots that looked like they still needed clean. I wanted to make absolutely sure I wasn't grinding anything into the clearcoat.

Thanks for the response and the tips. I already spend a lot of time washing my car and making sure everything is clean, so that isn't bad. My car has 100K miles on it, so I'm really excited to see how it turns out. Hopefully it comes out as good as yours did.
